Yosemite National Park is best known for its waterfalls, but it also encompasses deep valleys, grand meadows, ancient giant sequoias, and a vast wilderness area.

The Slide Mountain Trail is short (about a one mile loop), but has terrific panoramic views of Mt Rose, Reno and the Washoe Valley. It starts out steep, but the trail is nicely graded and well-maintained. As the trail starts from the Mt Rose Winters Creek Lodge parking area, there is plenty of parking. There are also picnic tables and interpretive signs at the trailhead.
